Double-end ferry SEEM 46-1250ST construction has started

The last state of art double-end ferry SEEM-40-1140ST construction has recently started on two BMA group shipbuilding sites : Merré and Mecasoud shipyards.
This ship has been designed by Ship-St design office.

The steel hull construciton has started at the Mecasoud shipyard in Saint-Nazaire while the two ramps and the superstructure have started at Merré Shipyard.

Available in 2020, this is a double-end ferry built by Merré Shipyard on behalf of Conseil Départemental de Seine Maritime. She will link between Quillebeuf and Port Jerome.

With a capacity of 145 passengers and 27 light vehicles, the double-end ferry will have a total length of 66 m and a maximum draft of 1,35 m. She is powered by 4 Schottel jet pumps driven by 4 Cummins QSL9 engines.

Merré Shipyard relies on several decades of experience in the construction of double-end ferries, pontoons, work boats and river boats to carry out the construction of this vessel in Nort sur Erdre until its delivery in Seine.
