27 September 2015
Merré shipyard is ready to deliver to their owner two Tugs SEEM 14-1000ST, propelled with two D13 Volvo engines with a total power of 1000 hp.
Bollard pull exceeding 13 tons for a freeway speed of more than 11 knots, their autonomy (10000 liters of fuel) makes it possible to respond to missions far from their home ports.
The tugs can accommodate a crew of six people. They are laid out for life on board over periods of several weeks (capacity of fresh water, equipment of comfort of life on board, ...).
These vessels are thus very dense and compact ; They reflect the know-how of Merré shipyard in terms of work boats, which guided the choice of the customer.
The tugs were built at Merré shipyard in Nort-sur-Erdre. The hulls and superstructures, fully armed and vaighed, were transported separately by convoy exceptional to the site of launch near Saint Nazaire. The assembly of the superstructures and the connection of the networks was carried out on this site before launching at the beginning of September.
The sea trials have just been successfully completed in the presence of the shipowner's representatives, before leaving in a few days for their home port.
